Catalog description

This class is a writing workshop for students to study the techniques of classic and modern playwrights and to develop writing intended to be performed on stage. Students will complete dramatic writing assignments, culminating in a polished and revised 20-30 minute theater text. To be selected for this class, students must submit a sample of their creative work in any genre: poems, short stories, etc. Students need not submit a play, screenplay or a collection of scenes, although they may. Please be advised that students will develop original work in this class; we will not be working on any scripts students have written prior to the start of the semester. Permission of instructor required.
