Introduction to Playwriting We will explore core elements of playwriting including character, dialogue, world building, and dramatic structure. Students will read and discuss work by contemporary playwrights as well as write two original ten-minute plays, culminating with an in-class reading series featuring student work. This class will focus on theatrical writing intended for live performance. No prior playwriting experience is needed. 4 credits.
