Catalog description

This course is designed to introduce students to basic tools, equipment, materials and hardware used in scenic construction and technology. This course provides an overview of the concepts and methods used to execute fabrication of a scenic design. Students will leave this course with knowledge of how basic scenery is constructed with experience constructing it. Creative projects (associated with the construction of actual scenery for a Theater Dept. Production when possible) are prioritized for student engagement, learning and practice. Students will also be assigned smaller projects in order to develop skills and exposure to new materials and techniques. Co-requisite is THEP 216, unless already taken. Offered regularly.
