Catalog description

This course will cover advanced additive manufacturing processes, systems, materials, designs, and applications. The course topics will include innovative fields and templates assisted additive manufacturing processes and systems, 4D printing for shape-morphing systems using stimulus-responsive materials, micrometer and nanometer scale additive manufacturing, and advanced applications by additive manufacturing. The application topics will include biomedical, biomimetics and bioinspired devices; electronic and robotic devices; energy harvest, storage, and conversion devices; and other areas. Prerequisites: ISE485/SSIE585 Additive Manufacturing Processes and Systems or permission of the instructor. Offered in the Spring semester.
