SPECIAL TOPICS Fin & Op Analysis via Sys Appr This course will involve a thorough examination of various factors that influence an enterprise’s financial health and operational efficiency. The enterprise could be, for example, in the service or manufacturing sector, such as a trucking firm, an airline, or a pharmaceutical company. Enterprises may be multinational or have a local or national focus. Small and medium-sized businesses, along with startups, will also be included. The analysis will cover reviewing financial statements, key financial ratios, performance compared to major stock market indices, and other relevant information for evaluating current performance, forecasting future prospects, and identifying risks. Additionally, the course will explore the resilience of enterprises in response to black swan events. The resilience of an enterprise concerning geopolitical factors (such as tariffs or wars) or “acts of God”; will be examined. Specific examples from different sectors will be studied in detail from a comprehensive systems perspective. In addition, there will be a focus on women-owned and minority owned enterprises. Prerequisites: Graduate standing and approval by the instructor.
