Catalog description

Do we live in a democracy? This course explores this question looking at how democracy and social justice are related, especially concerning intersections of race, gender, and class. The course goals are to identify theories about democracy and social justice, analyze the connections between democracy, race, class, and gender, analyze current problems in American democracy, and understand current discussions on democracy and imperialism. Restriction: No freshman. Offered regularly.
