Catalog description

The purpose of the seminar course is to gain an understanding of the university-assisted community schools model, as well as teachers commitment to understanding the local political, cultural, and historical elements of the community to support students to be successful in and out of school. In addition, the course will include discussions and activities related to fieldwork experiences with an individual outside the classroom setting such as a guidance counselor, a community school coordinator, a school to career educator, or a family liaison. Co-requisite: One day of week fieldwork placement with a community schools representative. Offered:
