Media and Politics

Catalog description

This course will explore the interaction between media and politics by looking at how television and film either serve or seek to undermine existing ideologies. Topics covered will include feminism, the war on drugs, the war on terrorism, horror films, anime, and more. Format: Students’ grades will be based upon a combination of papers and presentations on topics of their own choice. Each week students will have both reading and viewing assignments that will be available online. Restriction: No freshman permitted. Offered regularly.
