RHET 240/02 Introduction to Journalism Introduction to news reporting and writing. Topics include news judgment, reporting, interviewing, revising. Students will learn techniques for clear, concise writing. Students report and write six stories in journalistic style and will be required to conduct interviews and cover events outside of class. Students are expected to follow the news. Format: Lecture/discussion. Textbook: None. Students will be required to subscribe to the New York Times online (about $1 per week) during the course.
