Catalog description

This introductory level survey course in philosophy of religion introduces students to the many approaches to and questions about God, the divine, and religion in the history of philosophy. Students will read a wide range of texts from Greek thought through existentialism. Topics may include: the nature of God, God’s possible attributes, human knowledge of God, the relationship between God, religion, and morality, the nature of faith, and the problem of evil. Offered regularly in fall.
