Catalog description

This course prepares students to examine, evaluate and provide physical therapy intervention for children with disabilities and special health care needs. Foundational knowledge in human development, motor control and motor learning provide the basis for working with children with common neurological and musculoskeletal pediatric diagnoses. Students will also gain experience in selecting appropriate pediatric outcome measures, observing and assessing movement from birth to adolescence, and setting goals. Students will be prepared to communicate appropriately with children and their caregivers. This course is offered in the fall semester, year 3.
