Catalog description

Students will conduct an examination, evaluation, and interventions for persons with pathology or disorders involving the spinal cord, peripheral, and autonomic nervous systems. This course covers topics that include etiology, pathology, clinical signs and symptoms, diagnostic procedures, and medical and physical therapy management. Students will perform an examination, evaluation, intervention strategies, and standardized assessments pertinent to the management of patients with neurologic injury/disease of the spinal cord and peripheral nervous system. The physical therapist, as a critical member of the interprofessional healthcare team, will be addressed. This course is offered in the fall semester, year 3.
