Spec Pop III: Rural & At-Risk

Catalog description

This course will serve as an introduction to and exploration of the considerations and challenges related to health care access and health care delivery to rural and at-risk populations. It will begin with an overview of health disparities and social determinants of health with a focus on rural and at-risk populations. Topics covered will include health care access, introduction to health care policy, and strategies to address issues specific to rural and at-risk populations in physical therapy. This course is offered in the fall semester, year 2.
