Catalog description

Examines models of abnormal behavior with special attention to socio-cultural and biopsychological perspectives. Knowledge of diagnostic classification systems, functional and dysfunctional behaviors, including consideration of client strengths and psychopathology will be supplemented with analysis of issues in classification, diagnosis, and conceptualization of major categories of psychopathology. Reviews of the current research on the nature and etiology of psychological disorders will inform implementation of interventions. Offered either fall or spring semester each year,
