Introduction to the scientific study of human cognition: What does it mean to pay attention, to think, to learn, to remember, to know? The course will focus on psychological theories and experimental results addressing these cognitive abilities in terms of underlying mental representations and processes. The course will be lecture-based, but it is designed to foster active learning and critical thinking about the workings of the mind. Students must earn a grade of C- or higher for this course to apply to the major. Prerequisites: PSYC 111 with a grade of C or higher Prerequisite or co-requisite: PSYC 243 with a grade of C or higher
