This course introduces students to the foundational concepts, methods, and ethical considerations of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) as a science and professional practice. ABA is a systematic and evidence-based discipline scientific discipline within the broader field of psychology that focuses on understanding and improving human behavior. ABA draws from a rich tradition of experimental research and applies learning principles, particularly operant and respondent conditioning, to real-world problems with the goal of producing socially meaningful change. The course includes lectures, discussions, demonstrations of the application of concepts and procedures of applied behavior analysis, oral presentations, and quizzes on fundamental concepts in behavior analysis.
