Psychophys, Wearables & Health Ambulatory wearable technology is accelerating at an astronomical pace. Wearables measure real-time psychophysiological signals to investigate questions about mind-body interactions, health, stress, emotions, and cognition. Psychophysiology is at the interface between psychological states and physiology. Traditional measures include heart rate (ECG, HRV), blood pressure, muscle tension (EMG), respiration, galvanic skin response (GSR, EDA), and brain activity (EEG, ERP). Students learn basic principles and theory of psychophysiology and physiological systems. Students develop practical knowledge during classroom lectures and demonstrations. During the hands-on experiential lab, students wear sensors and learn applications of psychophysiology, including biofeedback, sleep, diving reflex, and detection of deception. Prerequisite OR Co-requisite: PSYC 111
