This course introduces graduate students to the comparative study of political institutions. Primary goals are to examine the relationship between political theorizing and comparative empirical investigation, with emphasis on the importance of compatibility among research question theory and method, and to provide students with a broad introduction to important works and approaches in comparative politics. Offered every fall.
