PLSC 620Seminar In American Politics

Catalog

Survey course designed as an introduction to the field of American politics. Accordingly, devoted to intensively examining selected readings that comprise the field, including the presidency, Congress, the Supreme Court, political parties, political behavior and interest groups. Meets the needs of graduate students in political science who hope at some time in the future to do regional research, master a doctoral field and teach in one or more areas of American politics. By reading literature covered in the course, students should begin to see how political scientists think about, craft and execute scholarly research.
