Catalog description

This course introduces to students how to conduct empirical analysis of politics and public policy. How do political scientists utilize quantitative data to find evidentiary support for various theoretical questions and examine the effects of different policies? In this class, students will learn how to craft proper research designs using theoretical foundations. This includes creating hypotheses about causal relationships that satisfy the scientific tenet of falsifiability, as well as the collection, organization, and statistical analysis of data. Restrictions: Juniors and Seniors only (others permitted by Instructor). Offered every two years.
