Compar Politics of Healthcare

Catalog description

This course addresses the cross-national variation in institutional approaches to healthcare, putting the differences in the context of differences in those nations’ political systems, government organization, and economic development. We will survey the theoretical approaches to healthcare as an economic industry and a political issue. Then, students will develop general familiarity with healthcare policies cross-nationally, and work on independent comparative projects on two or more in-depth cases. Freshman not permitted, unless under special circumstances. Offered regularly.
