American Judicial Process

Catalog description

This course examines various elements of the American judicial process, including legal education and the practice of law, the organization of courts and selection of judges, criminal and civil law, trial and appellate courts, and judicial impact. The course focuses on understanding why the American judicial process works as it does, examining it from the social science perspective. It will pay particular attention to the myths versus realities of the judicial process. Restrictions: No Freshman (except under special circumstances). Offered regularly in spring.
