Binghamton University · UGRD · Fall 2026
Catalog description
PHSC 680E: Research Applications in Pharmacokinetics and Clinical Pharmacology: This course will provide students with fundamental and in-depth knowledge in pharmacokinetics, toxicokinetics and clinical pharmacology, and their applications for basic research, the pharmaceutical industry and regulatory agencies. Students will learn and apply knowledge of drug absorption, distribution, metabolism and excretion (ADME) and physiological factors that influence each process. Student will learn the design of preclinical animal studies and clinical studies based on the considerations of pharmacokinetics, toxicokinetics, pharmacodynamics, therapeutic delivery and statistics in drug development. Student will also learn methods for evaluating drug and gene delivery. The most advanced and widely used pharmacokinetic/pharmacodynamic (PK/PD) and physiologically based pharmacokinetic (PBPK) modeling programs will be introduced and practiced to address questions like dose selection, dosage regimen and drug-drug interactions.
