PHSC 680D: Chemical Technology for Drug Discovery and Drug Delivery: This course is designed to provide drug discovery scientists with the chemistry-related skillset needed to undertake the design and preparation of new drug analogs and new drug delivery technology. Specific topics that will be covered in this class include: 1) Synthetic transformations; 2) Protecting group chemistry; 3) Synthetic strategy; 4) NMR and MS for structure determination of drugs; 5) HPLC for purity determination of drugs; 6) Basic molecular modeling and visualization; 7) Molecular docking; 8) Nanoparticle preparation and characterization; 9) Gene delivery technology; 10) Liposomal formulations. (
