PHSC 602: Pharmaceutical Sciences II: This course is designed to give students an in-depth understanding of the drug development process and to provide students with a foundational knowledge of major classes of therapeutic agents on the market today. By the end of the semester, students will have an in-depth understanding of: 1) Lead identification and lead optimization; 2) Drug metabolism and drug-drug interactions; 3) The regulatory and financial considerations of drug-development; 4) The major classes of therapeutics on the market today; and 5) Up-and-coming pharmaceutical technology that may impact the healthcare field over the next 5-15 years. [
