PHSC 601 Pharmaceutical Sciences I: This is the first in a series of two courses designed to survey aspects of pharmaceutical sciences, including biochemistry, medicinal chemistry, pharmacodynamics and pharmacokinetics. By the end of the semester, students will be able to understand how medications work, major systems on which they work, how the chemical moiety impacts drug action/toxicity, and kinetic considerations. Examples and active case-based learning are used to assist students’ building skills to solve problems associated with the application and science surrounding the pharmaceutical sciences. (
