PHRM 580T: Medicines and Society: This course explores the development and societal impact of medicines from herbal remedies to compounds extracted from nature to synthetic chemical drugs, to the latest biotechnology products. From scientific breakthroughs to the perils of addiction, students will be introduced to a variety of medications and their impact on society and human behavior. Learners in this course will gain greater awareness of drugs that have fundamentally revolutionized medicine and society. Learning methods will include lectures by faculty, group discussions and presentations, active-learning strategies, small-group exercises, and simulation lab experience. (
