PHRM 580 P: Advanced Cardiovascular Pharmacotherapy: This elective course is designed to cover advanced cardiovascular disease pharmacotherapy topics which may include but are not limited to, acute coronary syndromes, arrhythmias, cardiac surgery, valvular heart disease, advanced hemodynamics, electrophysiology, and pulmonary hypertension. The course is a blend of didactic teaching, journal clubs, simulations, and case-based discussions and will further explore and expand upon concepts learned in Cardiology Integrated Pharmacotherapy. Course topics will include both acute and chronic management, however, inpatient cardiovascular disease management will be emphasized. Approximately 1 hour each week will be dedicated to flipped classroom lecture, 1 hour to journal club presentations, and 1 hour on case based discussion; however, there will be some variability in course structure depending on the topic covered.
