PHRM 580I: Advanced Infectious Diseases Pharmacotherapy: This elective course is designed to build upon and supplement the core infectious disease content learned in PHRM 524 (Infectious Diseases Integrated Pharmacotherapeutics). Students will actively engage in various learning activities to provide advanced pharmacotherapeutic management of patients with various infectious diseases. Antimicrobial stewardship principles will be emphasized and applied in a variety of formats and scenarios. Infectious disease related public health issues will be reviewed as well as their impact on the management of specific patient populations. The epidemiology, clinical microbiology, pathophysiology, and antimicrobial management of selected infectious diseases will be further explored. (
