PHRM 580H: Toxicology & Drug Induced Disease: This course is an elective covering toxicology and drug induced diseases with a focus on pharmacovigilance, altered pharmacokinetics, xenobiotic toxicities, and the monitoring/treatment of drug induced diseases. Basic physiological, pharmacological, pharmacokinetic, pharmacotherapeutic, public health, and legal principles are applied to the monitoring, detection, treatment, and complications of xenobiotic toxicities and drug induced diseases. Case-based learning, classroom group work, patient simulation, and longitudinal projects are used to assist students in building skills to solve problems associated with the prevention, detection, monitoring, and treatment of xenobiotic toxicities and drug induced diseases. Additionally, the course will address public health considerations pertinent to the prevention and detection of xenobiotic toxicities and drug induced diseases. (
