Catalog description

PHRM 566: Introductory Pharmacy Practice Experience III: Direct Patient Care I This is the third introductory pharmacy practice experience (IPPE) and builds on students’ exposure to pharmacy practice in community settings in PHRM 562. Students are introduced to direct patient care in a variety of direct patient care environments. The student is required to complete at least 300 hours of IPPE during the first three years; a minimum of 150 hours will be balanced between community pharmacy and institutional health-system settings. Students, under the supervision of a pharmacy preceptor, will gain real life practice, as regulations permit, applying the knowledge and skills they are learning and developing in classroom and skills lab settings to direct patient care.
