PHRM 541: Integrated Pharmacotherapy VII: Pulmonary, Eye, Ear, Nose and Throat This is the seventh in a sequence of nine Integrated Pharmacotherapy modules with a focus on diseases and disorders of the pulmonary system, eye, ear, nose, and throat. Basic biochemical, microbiological, anatomical, physiological, pharmacological, medicinal chemistry, pharmacokinetic, clinical chemistry and pharmacotherapeutic principles are integrated and applied to presentation and management of pulmonary and eye, ear, nose, and throat conditions such as respiratory tract infections, otitis, rhinitis, asthma, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, cystic fibrosis, smoking cessation, glaucoma, xerosis and conjunctivitis. Biological and physicochemical principles related to drug delivery and dosage forms used in the treatment of these disorders are covered as well as preparation methods routes of administration. Examples and active case-based learning are used to assist students building skills to solve problems associated with the treatment and management of pulmonary system, eye, ear, nose and throat conditions and diseases.
