PHRM 530: Health Care Ethics (IPE Course ) This interactive course helps prepare pharmacy students to provide effective health care by applying ethical tenets in their relationships with patients and members of the health care team, discussing contemporary ethical issues encountered in the provision of patient-centered health care, using team problem-solving activities focused on ethical dilemmas encountered in medical decision-making, and examining the impact of culture and beliefs of the patient in medical decision-making. This is an interprofessional course and includes the interactions of students in different professions on the healthcare team. Students will participate in a significant project or clinical interprofessional experience involving conflicting ethical choices and prepare and present a team-based decision based on their experiences and interactions.
