PHRM 529: Drug Information and Health Informatics This course focuses on the use of essential drug and toxicology information sources within contemporary pharmacy practice, building on evidence-based medicine (EBM) literature evaluation skills developed in earlier courses. Additionally, the course introduces students to the role of health information technology in health care delivery. Topics include primary, secondary and tertiary sources of drug information, medication safety, acute poisoning with emphasis on formulating drug information responses as well as an introduction to the use of drug monographs and key pharmaceutical information such as electronic medical records, e-prescribing and computerized physician order entry.
