PHRM 522: Integrated Pharmacotherapy IV: Endocrine, Renal and Reproductive Health This is the fourth in a sequence of nine Integrated Pharmacotherapy modules with a focus on the endocrine, renal and reproductive systems and their diseases and disorders. Basic biochemical, anatomical and physiological, pharmacological, medicinal chemistry, pharmacokinetic, clinical chemistry and pharmacotherapeutic principles are integrated and applied to presentation and management of endocrine, renal and reproductive system conditions and diseases such as diabetes, thyroid and adrenal disorders, kidney disease, and benign prostatic hyperplasia as well as contraception and hormone replacement therapy. Biological and physicochemical principles related to drug delivery and dosage forms used in the treatment of these disorders are covered as well as preparation methods routes of administration. Examples and active case-based learning are used to assist students building skills to solve problems associated with the treatment and management of endocrine, renal and reproductive system diseases and disorders.
