PHRM 513: Pharmaceutics I: Physical Pharmacy Basic concepts in physical pharmacy and pharmaceutical sciences including solubility, stability, permeability, properties and behaviors of gases and electrolyte and non-electrolyte solutions, and solid forms including dissolution and drug release are introduced in this first in a series of pharmaceutics courses. Achieving proficiency in these basic concepts of physical pharmacy will provide students with essential knowledge used and considerations taken in design and development of pharmaceutical dosage forms and drug delivery systems and in contemporary pharmacy practice. Specific types of dosage forms and the excipients used to produce them will also be discussed.(
