Catalog description

This course introduces students to the beginning process of personal identity formation and professional identity formation as a practicing pharmacist. This hybrid course includes various activities, assessments, and lectures that promote students to “think, act, and feel” like a pharmacist. Specifically, this course includes an introduction to the profession of pharmacy, personal & professional identity formation, pharmacy-related career opportunities, an introduction to the drug approval process, navigating specific literature related to pharmacotherapy, cultural awareness and competency, early-career professional development, team-based problem solving, and oral and written communication techniques used to convey healthcare-related information.
