Catalog description

Disease Detectives: Investigating Epidemics around the World. Interested in becoming a disease detective? Epidemiology is the basic science of public health. This course is taught from a case study approach allowing you to learn the science and methods of public health as well as key concepts related to infectious and chronic diseases as well as injuries. The cases are based on real-life global events and problems, and cover a wide range of topics and issues in a fun and interactive way. The course aims to provide you with the knowledge and skills for conducting an outbreak investigation and to develop your analytic, critical thinking, and scientific reasoning skills through collaborative problem-solving.
