Catalog description

Health & Place: How Neighborhoods Shape Our Lives. Did you know that your zip code may be more important to your health than genetics? This course will explore how where we lives affects every aspect of our lives from environmental exposures to the built environment. Using a social justice lens, this course examines how neighborhoods affect our social, emotional, spiritual, intellectual, mental and physical well-being as well as significantly influence occupational and financial opportunities. The course seeks to answer questions about how well our laws and policies contribute to environmental health equity, particularly for historically oppressed, exploited, or marginalized populations.
