Catalog description

NURS 335-Forensic Health Essentials Description: Many professionals work with victims and offenders of child abuse, intimate partner violence, elder abuse, and sex crimes, while others deal with civil issues, such as litigation, personal injury and child custody. This course presents an overview of forensic disciplines, forensic assessment, the collection and preservation of evidence, death investigation, terrorism, DMORT, crime prevention, developing a forensic practice and basic civil issues, such as malpractice, child custody, elder law and personal injury. The online nature of this course is asynchronous, which means students work at their own pace, with assignments posted by due day and time. Open to all students, sophomore status and above.
