Catalog description
Research findings influence practice, theory and education and contribute to the body of science. Understanding the various ways in which research is conducted, being able to critically analyze research findings in literature and conducting independent research are essential skills for PhD prepared nurses and other health professionals. This course is designed to provide fundamental methodological and statistical skills needed by PhD students. It covers the research process from conceptualization to the statistical analysis and interpretation of findings. The emphasis of the course is on the selection and application of appropriate research designs and statistical procedures. Furthermore, SPSS will be introduced and basic data entry and analysis procedures will be provided.
