Research findings influence nursing practice, theory and education and contribute to the body of nursing science. Understanding the various ways in which research is conducted and being able to critique research and apply findings to nursing practice are essential skills for advanced practice nurses. This course is designed to provide fundamental methodological and statistical skills needed by nurses. It covers the research process from conceptualization to the statistical analysis and interpretation of findings. The emphasis of the course is on the selection and application of appropriate research designs and statistical procedures. 3 credits. Fall and Spring semesters
