Catalog description

Credits: 3 Application and synthesis of theory relevant to practice of family nursing with a special focus on families in later life. Common experiences associated with aging and illness such as changes in self-image and relationships, and related APN interventions, are emphasized. This course has an emphasis on palliative care, advance directives and having difficult conversations with patients. Direct, preceptor-supervised clinical practice provided. The clinical portion of this course requires approximately 8 hours per week for a total of 120 hours in the practice setting. Prerequisite: NURS 522 & NURS 554 (FNP). (Didactic
