Credits: Variable This course builds on the skills acquired in previous courses and provides the basis for understanding and implementing family therapy and group therapies. Current theories and models of family therapy and group therapy are explored with an emphasis on process, dynamics, and evidenced based interventions. Challenges in providing therapy to culturally diverse families, couples, and specialized groups are addressed with focus on increasing clinical effectiveness. The clinical portion of this course requires approximately 8 hours per week for a total of 120 hours in the practice setting. Prerequisite: NURS 563 or NURS 564 and 566. (Didactic
