Catalog description

The last of three functional role courses enables students to socialize into the role of nurse practitioner, which includes the six components of clinician, counselor, educator, consultant, administrator, and researcher. Class content addresses both the implementation and synthesis of role components in relation to clinical decision-making and management, professional advocacy, practice models, entrepreneurial strategies, career development, and collaborative relationships. Direct preceptor supervised clinical practice provided. Prerequisite: NURS 522 & 554 (FNP) or NURS 512 & NURS 554 (AG). Corequisite: NURS 596 (FNP) or NURS 513 (AG).
