Family NP Role I

Catalog description

The first of three functional role courses enables students to socialize into the role of the nurse practitioner. Class content will address the direct care provider role of the nurse practitioner in relation to the evaluation and management of health and illness care of the young and expanding family. Intervention skills for the educator and counselor roles pertinent to primary care practice will be explored. Direct preceptor supervised clinical practice provided. Prerequisite: NURS 502, NURS 518 & NURS 600. Corequisites: NURS 519 & NURS 521.
