Functional Role III, CNS

Catalog description

The last course in the three semester sequence of courses for the CNS, focuses on the consultant and researcher components of the CNS role. These include direct care provider/case manager, counselor, educator, consultant, leader, and researcher. Clinical practice opportunities allow for application of theories pertinent to the role. Direct preceptor supervised clinical practice provided. Clinical practice opportunities allow for application of knowledge and socialization to these roles. The clinical portion of this course requires 8 hours per week for a total of 120 hours in the practice setting. Prerequisite: NURS 512 & NURS 551.
