Credits: 4 The last of three functional role courses enables students to socialize into the role of nurse practitioner, which includes the six components of clinician, counselor, educator, consultant, administrator, and researcher. Class content addresses both the implementation and synthesis of role components in relation to clinical decision-making and management, professional advocacy, practice models, entrepreneurial strategies, career development, and collaborative relationships. Direct preceptor supervised clinical practice provided. The clinical portion of this course requires 8 hours per week for a total of 120 hours in the practice setting.
