Nursing Honors Program III - Engagement: This course is the third and final course in the Honors Program at the Decker School of Nursing and serves as the culmination of the enriched experiences provided. The emphasis is on completion of a major independent scholarly project or thesis under the guidance and approval of a faculty member. In this semester the student refines the formal proposal with objectives and implements a plan of action. The student then writes the final project including methods of evaluation. Through this project, the student demonstrates evidence of independent, theoretical, analytical and critical thinking. This project involves the investigation of a substantive health issue related to nursing that is a burning interest of the student. This project reflects quality findings from research and evidenced-based practice, and provides the groundwork leading to either a thesis or capstone project at the graduate level. Students who are interested may spend time with quality management personnel in community agencies. Students may also attend the Eastern Nursing Research Society (ENRS) Conference. Prerequisite: Successful completion of Honors I (NURS 441) and Honors II (NURS 442)
