Catalog description

Introduction to the concepts and principles of palliative nursing care across the lifespan and the role of the professional nurse in promoting excellence in end-of-life care. Students analyze factors that influence care and the role of nurse advocate for the dying in relation to the physical, emotional, existential and spiritual domains of the dying experience. Students explore their personal views and beliefs about death and dying. Guidelines for quality care at end-of-life related to pain and symptom management are analyzed.
