Catalog description

This course will give a broad overview of mental health and aging in the U.S. The course will discuss the current demographic of the older population and their current mental health needs. The biological, psychosocial and social theories of aging and mental health will be examined. Common psychiatric disorders in the older population will be presented. The challenges to meeting the needs of the aging population will be explored including access to care, cost, and legality. This is an asynchronous online course for undergraduate students.
